Miracle Tree's Blog - Moringa for Your New Year's Detox

How the superfood helps cleanse your body from toxins accumulated over the holiday season

The holiday season is here which means the post-holiday bloat from weeks of unhealthy bingeing is upon us. You may want to indulge in the delicacies of the season but these foods are full of refined carbohydrates, processed sugars and trans fats, which can make digestion difficult and may cause inflammation. Moringa is a natural way to detox your body and get rid of all of the toxins induced by the holiday feasting and drinking. Starting your year on a healthy note with a new year’s detox is on everyone’s wish list. Moringa can be the easiest and quickest way to actualize your goals, undo all the damage from the holiday season and achieve your new year’s detox.

Why use moringa for a detox?

The moringa oleifera plant has been used in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory and detoxification properties for several years. Moringa is full of healthy nutrients like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids, which effectively flush toxins out of your body.

  • Studies show Moringa may regulate blood sugar levels which can alleviate any discomfort from sugar binges over the season. Increased consumption of unhealthy food can put you at risk for diabetes. The plant has hyperglycemic and lipid regulating properties to tackle this. By regulating blood sugar levels, moringa may control the negative effects of seasonal sugary food.
  • Studies show that moringa may have diuretic effects, which increase the elimination of water and salt from our body. This means moringa may be effective in flushing out toxins through sweat and urine.
  • Moringa may also have hepatoprotective properties that prevent damage to the liver. The liver is susceptible to harm after the holiday and new year drinking. Alcohol is highly toxic to the body and a build-up of toxins causes fatigue, insomnia and cognitive difficulties. Moringa may be the perfect new year’s detox by protecting the liver from damage and aiding the elimination of toxins from the body.
  • Moringa contains amino acids that help build proteins in the body. One such protein, metallothionein, is a sulfur-containing compound which plays a crucial role in metal detoxification.
  • Moringa also helps subdue cravings and keeps you full for longer periods of time.
